Nice "flat side". Somebody sure put a lot of effort into that one. Looks to be very well done.

Thats a nice looking conversion of a Krag. Certainly not a "bubba" creation. Do you know how much it weighs? Also are there provisions for a sling? Nice that it came with some ammo.

Haven't weighed but its very light. Was a well done modification. Has the original inlet for rear swivel. Will make a nice walkabout hunting rifle i think

What does the bottom of the stock look like just forward of the receiver. I am thinking I see a band on that portion of the barrel for a hold down screw perhaps in front of the trigger guard? Looks like a nicely done sporter.

On this photo 20230821_171148.jpg I see a band or a sleeve just forward of the receiver that is almost the same diameter as the receiver, I am thinking that is a sleeve with enough thickness that it could be tapped for a forward hold down screw. There are several ways to keep the receiver from jumping out of the stock and breaking the stop from recoil when the barrel bands are not used. seems like your sporter is well thought out. I wanted to see how the builder addressed the issue in your new acquisition. There are so many ways to skin a cat, and I count it part of my continuing education to see how others skinned their cat.

Oh. Yes there is a forward hold down screw about that area under the foregrip
