Let me tune up my voice. Mi Mi Mi Me! Me! Me!
Yes I agree the better choice would be here and not over "there" at some other site. And I am unanimous in that.

I am just trying to help 'Old Soldier', help a widow.
(In the process, it would be nice if a good opportunity went to a KCA member).
It would be fun to see pictures of the whole package.
The early suggestion, of a worth of around $400, became silly, when a desirable rear-sight 'bombed' into the photo.
I am not a player, just want things to go to a good home with everyone ahead and happy.

would this rifle be an antique? i would like to hear more about the rifle and the condition on the bore etc for a possible project. the rear sight has no value to me as i would only be interested in the rifle itself.

Just to update you. I talked to her today. I'll be posting the sight soon. She may give the gun to her Brother in law. She asked what to do about him not having a rear sight. I politely said "Your giving him the gun. Let him find his own sight."

I've added pictures of it for you to critique, incase I don't know what I'm looking at. Your input is welcome.

Seems like a simple solution to the brother in law situation would be a trade plus cash. Everybody wins then. The B/L gets a Krag that shoots right off the bat, the widow gets close to $500.00 cash, and a member here gets a valuable 96 carbine sight. A receiver sight or original Krag barrel sight would be just peachy on a cut down sporter.

Well, I would certainly trade a 1902 Krag rear sight, or a Pacific or Redfield 'No-Drill' peep-sight and some cash, for a model 1896 carbine sight.
