Hello,
so for me I'm not addicted to Krag :o :o but I have an addiction to American rifles   .

So as an accessory I'm looking for, as you know, a bayonet, but I already have this :

On the other hand, I don't find the removal of the chopsticks and the oiler very practical.
Did the soldier have a special tool to dislodge them more easily?

I've also seen that leather straps are available at a very low price, as it's impossible to find
a vintage one, and I can't tell you how much it costs.
Best regards.

Most of the cleaning rods just fall out when the rifle is inverted with the cover open. Tap it against your hand. Pull them out manually. Maybe they need cleaned or the holes cleaned out. Hope it's not a big problem. Vintage slings are expensive, especially ones with good leather not cracked and torn.

Good evening ,
no it's not a big problem, I can get the chopsticks out but you have to help them because otherwise they don't come out by themselves.
I had just seen a strap for sale and remember that the selling price had surprised me (high price).

I am that :

What do you think?
Who's got one on their Krag?

Good evening to you all.

I got one of those original canvas breech covers with a Krag I purchased years ago. There are not many originals around with the leather thongs. Nice accoutrement for the collection.

Good evening to you all,
I wish you and your little world a happy new year in 2024 , health first
because without it we can't do anything, then a little money :P :P .

I found the photo I was referring to in the previous posts:

I would have bought it but I find it really expensive, too expensive ...

What do you think ?
maybe it's the same marking as mine ?

Enjoy your evening.

Hello ,
as I'm more or less looking for a bayonet for my rifle, I came across this:

Does anyone know this model ?
And please tell me more because I don't have the book.

Thank you for your help.
Best regards.

Eric,

Hi! I don't think anyone is ignoring you. I am not sure exactly what you are asking. There are many Krag bayonets for sale on ebay to complement your nice Model 1898 Krag. Is that what you are looking for? Hope it helps. Krag bayonets are dated at the base of the blade. You can find one dated 1898 without too much trouble. Many are sold with the appropriate scabbards also. They might run around $150 or so.
