RUAG Primers coming to the firing line

Post by Culpeper »

I received a notice from Powder Valley about RUAG large rifle primers. RUAG was bought by Beretta Holdings a couple of years ago. The lot number in the example photo shows the DAG mark for Dynamit Nobel A-G. The ad says 11.3 cents each which is in line with other primers in these mad times. Maybe they'll come down, maybe not. Any way. I checked the cost for two bricks to my locale and with Hazmat and (ugh) taxes I would be paying 14.2 cents a pop. Still maddening but what ya going to do?

The bass pro shop by me (illinois) has federal large rifle primers in stock. They are $110.00 per thou. If you have a bass pro or cablamos near you it might be worth a look. While you are there you can pick up a $15.00 no.7 rapala shad rap and a $9.00 bag of beef jerky the size of a tea bag, such a deal they have there. Gone are the days of the 3 cent primer.
