Sunday night at 10:53 p.m., the Central Florida TV news station said the manned launch was "on" and started the countdown.
I stepped out of our Central Florida place, walked to the end of the driveway and faced East.
I was quickly rewarded with a great high altitude view of the rocket launched from Cape Kennedy.
Four Astronauts are on their way to the International Space Station.
We saw the first stage separate and return to earth, as the second-stage continued to carry its payload to orbit.
It never gets old, a super spectacular view!

Re: Manned Space launch ....
What a thrill that must have been Chuck. I've always wanted to be able to watch a launch!

Cool! I was able to see a Titan space launch vehicle take off at Vandenburg Air Force base in the late 90's. Maybe 97'.
