A few days ago my wife, daughter, grand kiddos and myself went hiking at the Sweet Water state park located in Georgia. Before hitting the trails we stopped by the interpretive center to learn about the park's history. Like most interpretive centers this one was no different. Displayed were your usual examples of of flora & fauna, historical displays and models of architectural features. Being a gun guy, the display that first caught my attention was located at the entrance. At first I thought it was an aquarium displaying some of the local aquatic life. Upon closer inspection I discovered it was a crate of 1853 Enfield rifles that had been recovered from the CSS Stono (formally the USS Isaac Smith) which sank in Charleston harbor in 1863.
