... the G.I. bore-cleaner (and Joe), from here!

General Patton did not approve of the work of Bill Mauldin. Patton thought the 'hobo' appearance of Willy and Joe was bad for morale.

There's a LOT of things Patton didn't approve of... up to and including shell-shocked GIs taking up space in a hospital (we all know how that one ended up)! Personally, I love Bill Mauldin's work!

Speaking of GI bore cleaner - I have a LOT of the stuff, much still in sealed cartons from the Johnson Wax Company in 1941. Wonder if there is any collector (or shooter) interest?

Why? The smell will gag a maggot!

Hot soapy water works just as well and doesn't stench-up your work space.
Windex, with ammonia, probably works, too.

Any of these 'solvents' need to be flushed out, wiped & dried out.
Follow-up is with patches wet with deep penetrating weapons oil.

Anyone who spent time scrubbing an m60 will remember that wonderful perfume

Was WW1/WW2 type bore-cleaner still being used to clean the M60 machine gun?

I mean the pungent thick liquid stuff that was used to remove corrosive chlorate-primer salts.

Thanks for the interest! I'll check stock and see what I actually have, also take some pics.

NOT being "cute" but I truly have NO idea what would be a fair price, or what the shipping situation would be. Don't think it's "hazardous" but it certain is a liquid, which would have to be declared.

Ahhh, good old Ebay - should have checked first before last post. I have the 6oz. cans, some loose, some in sealed HEAVY cardboard cartons. Condition is NOS, basically "mint", not scuffed up like some of the Ebay photos. Will advise quantities and prices soon.
