I saw this item in a Midway Advertisement, today on Facebook.
Apparently it's made by 'Cash Manufacturing' in the U.S.A. and sells for $14.99.

I can't imagine the influence for this handy idea?

(A neoprene "O" ring has replaced the leather seal. I don't know the actual dimensions).

Typical of the things made by Cash. That oiler looks particularly nice. Price is easy on the wallet. Sincerely. bruce.

This could start a trend. Maybe a " sgt. peep sight" for your glock is in the future.

I knew Ted Cash since the 80s as I've been to his shop (Waunakee, WI), attended buckskinner rendezvous that he had been to and ran into him at a Contemporary Longrifle Association annual event a few years back. Can't say that he knows me by name as I was one of his many customers. But he has always been easy to talk with and he has helped me with his ramrod pipe selection and other items when I was building a flintlock Southern Mountain rifle and a Colonial Fowler. He sold his business (a well-known muzzleloader supplier of gun making parts and accoutrements) a few years back as he is getting up there in years. But his products were, and still are, high quality.

See the Ted Cash Mfg link for the oiler below. It indicates it is 3-1/2" long. The original Ordnance Department was 3-1/4" long. Note that the Cash cap is longer than the original. I'll bet the diameter of the Cash oiler is darn close to the original, which fits into the rifle's buttstock trapdoor and also the loop of the cartridge belts made in the Krag era.
