Hi all,
Have this 1914- made Krag model 1912 carbine. All of the other ones I have seen have a serial # on the trigger guard but mine does not although all other parts that should be numbered are numbered and matching.
I took the trigger guard out to see if maybe it had a number above the wood line but it didn’t.
I know armorers are human too, maybe this is just a one off mistake? Picture in link below

That's an interesting question - my first assumption would be that it's a field replacement of some kind that wasn't serialized. IMO it doesn't detract from your rifle at all. Any chance you'd be willing to post some more pictures of it?

Sure thing, here are some more photos:

Only thing is the stock appears to have been lightly sanded at some point in my opinion as the stock serial number is fairly feint but still visible. Likely done aftermarket as I don’t believe this would have been done during rearsenalization.

That's a beautiful early m/1912! Very nice! Agreed on the sanding, that was most likely thanks to a previous owner in the US market.

Nice M-1912 Karabin! ... Imgur photos are crappy.
Is it possible there is a serial number on the front-left edge of the trigger-guard? Or is this just minor pitting?
