Thank You all for the advice and guidance - stumbled across a Turner 1887 sling on Ebay the other day... Here's the pics - Can a forum member confirm if I have it 'slung' correctly?

It is slung correctly (as shown in Mallory's - "The Krag Rifle Story").

The attached photo, of an overly long reproduction Sling, may make it easier to see how the Sling is 'threaded'.
