I have found the liquid in a can of red kidney beans is the cooked out essence of the mighty fruit that makes you toot. You don't have to wait for the body to break down the bean itself. The liquid is ready to roil when it hits the intestines. And if you have the right gut fauna you will have fun with SBD, Silent But Deadly, gas.

Now if you really want to get back at some rotten SOB family member at Thanksgiving feed him or her a plate of Jerusalem Artichokes instead of potatoes. The smell won't be there like beans but they'll be making sounds like a hit and miss engine for hours.

Not that I have ever done that. ::)
