Was the Krag carbine ever made in a single shot?

Never heard of one. The Mallory/Olson book makes reference to, and shows a photo of one that was converted to single shot. Also, could it be a single shot of another make, chambered for the 30-40 Krag cartridge? Have you seen the gun, or only heard of it?

I believe the modern, and extremely strong, Ruger #3 Carbine, introduced in the 1970s (?) as a lower-priced alternative to their top-of-the-line #1 single shot, was originally chambered in .30-40 Krag, as well as .45-70. I do not know if it is still in production.
