Re: SRS check
Is it a Krag Rifle or Carbine?
Your Krag, #117928, falls between numbers listed in Mallory's, "The Krag Rifle Story" Appendix: #117866 and #117930. These were Model 1898 Rifles, issued in 1898 to Co. H, 6th Ohio Vol. Infantry.
(BTW - #117536 and #118270 were Model 1898 Carbines).
Only a direct hit has meaning, since, Krag receivers were numbered and then were put in part's bins. U.S. Krags were not manufactured, accepted, or issued in numerical order.

Re: SRS check
Thanks for the info. My gun has been sporterized (nice job,no hack)
Re: SRS check
I believe my rifle started out as a carbine(22' barrel, original front site). The rear sight looks to me like a 1902,with NO C.Unfortunatley someone added a peep sight. I will try to post some pictures in the next couple of days

Re: SRS check
jig-eye: Some clear pictures of your muzzle & front sight and your Krag would get better answers.

'jig-eye': I believe you are correct. That front sight base and crown look right in the photo.
You probably have a model 1898 Krag carbine that has been given a model 1902 rifle rear sight and put into a cut-down sporterized rifle stock. That Lyman 'peep' sight, regrettably, required a couple of new holes in the receiver.
I think it's a nice Krag to enjoy as is. With expensive original parts and skillful 'hole filling', a nice restoration is possible, but, I wouldn't do that.
(p.s. I'm curious, is there a small "C" stamped on the right side of your front sight blade?).

Re: SRS check
FWIW I think the stock is a repro of some sort, those grasping grooves are not right.
Re: SRS check
I don't see a C,all I see is the where the pin is.Thanks for the info.
