I've got the idea in my head of trying Sierra 169 grain SMK bullets in my Krag once I get back to the world. Load data can't be too different than one with 168 grain SMKs. Which rifle to choose as the test platform? Pondering. Thinking harder. Which one, which one? The 1896? The 1898? What's that Steinmayer? The 1894? Of course! Why didn't I think of that? Thanks, Brother.
Fortunately I have a good stock pile of appropriate pre-plandemic powders to choose from for the project.
To be continued...

Definitely interested! I would think IMR 4064 would be a good fit with that, I haven't tried any bullets other than my cast 221 grain and Hornady 150 grain FMJs in my Krag as of yet.
Re: New project 169 gr. SMKs
4064 is part of the pile along with 4350, Win748, IMR3031 down in tunnel 6B. I think I have some H322 but since my books are stateside I am not certain if it is appropriate for ol' 112. Dad used H322 to good effect on groundhogs in his .222 CZ. I ordered a couple thousand 169s earlier this year and was going to try them in '06 and .762x51 loads however it would be a shame to leave out the Krags. Even if it turns out to be a bust any range time is good range time when you're stuck with no range time for the last two years.
Now to search for load data on the the net. I know one thing, I have enough factory rounds to use as a control.

I'm sure you'll find the right combination. I used Nosler 168s last time I shot at Camp Perry. The low score wasn't due to the load! I've have had good results with Sierra's Tipped Matchking in a K31 and shot a sub moa 5 shot group@100yd out of my scoped Garand using 46.4gr of 4064.
