Re: Even bubba gets tired, 1894 Norwegian
As you say, it "only" need a stock with hardware. Can be obtained from Norway occationally, but now the stock have to bee cut to fit the freight "rules" of max lenght of 105cm. Other freight is so costfull that you will not find it affordable.

Re: Reproduction Krags?
I've been thinking the same for the Norwegian krag.
Back in 1894 the production cost were NOK63.50.
Price offered by Springfield when we (Norway) were looking for foreign supply that ended into that Steyr made krags were $15 each.
The inflation ratio for Norway from 1894 up to now is...

Re: Curious ebay picture with Krag

I find the presence of the modern "assault rifle" to be totally incongruous with the classic uniform. I see no reason why such ceremonial personnel (especially in such a quiet backwater as Norway) need to be so armed. Keep a flying squad of SWAT guys right inside the door if yo...

Re: Did Steyr make Krag carbines for Norway in 1897?
Out of the serial number this is the remains from a M1894 Krag/Jrgensen produced by Steyr in 1897. The stock is cut down from a m1894 rifle, and the barrel is also cut down and fit with a sight I do not know so it becomes a "look a alike" M1895 krag Jrgensen carabine.
Google is a nice...

Donald.
Steyr made the 50 carabines, (50 is in the book by Hanevik a best guess in how many were made. Also, it is sead that 10 carabines came to South Africa (Boer war?), were probebly 5 of them were produced by Steyr, and 5 at kongsberg.

Re: Did Steyr make Krag carbines for Norway in 1897?
I've read thru the story about the carabines made by Steyr. Back in 1895 WG Steyr had signed the contract for the rifles made later in 96 97. Engineer Poppe asigned for the contract to supervice asked Krag if a project for carabines should be made at same time as the rifle production were ramped up....

<r>
Hi, not much progress on getting the group size below 1.25 inches with the current projectiles.

I just cannot get the trigger to be lighter, even when polished etc. It might have something to do with the increadibly heavy firing pin spring. Hi.
This type of adjustment came actually as a fix for a production error made on a batch of receivers round 1900. The fix is the screw that also were introduced later as adjustment screw on private krags.
Made som research for your stock, it is a early Stormoen modell for sharpshooter up...

Re: Norwegian target rifle
In the pictures you got of your krag it looks like you got an adjustable trigger, perhaps a S&L. There is a small ajdustment screw at the root of the trigger. Turning this in make the trigger lighter. If the this screw is to far out, you might experience the wariation in weight. Only 1/4 turn sh...
